Spotlight On: Karen & Brian Conway

Steppingstone supporters since 1996.

“Karen and I believe in the multiplier effect, and the leverage of investing in education. We choose to support Steppingstone because the organization delivers on its mission, and the results and metrics are impressive.

While serving as a trustee of Amherst College, I came to understand that college access and success is not just about financial aid. We must start early to prepare underserved students for college admission and graduation – and Steppingstone does.

I visit Steppingstone classes every summer, and am struck each time by how hard Scholars work at such a young age to achieve their goals and go to college. One of the great things about being involved with Steppingstone for a long time is that students I met when they were young Scholars are now college graduates and impressive young men and women. That is incredibly inspiring.”

Brian is the Chairman of TA Associates and serves as the Chair of Steppingstone’s Board of Directors. He also serves on the Board of Trustees of the Noble and Greenough School. Karen is a member of the Board of Trustees of the Institute of Contemporary Art, the Telluride Foundation, the MASS Design Group, and The Trustees of the Reservations. The Conway family has supported Steppingstone for 20 years.
